2023 Domaine la Damase Piquepoul

Sébastien Latour is the 5th generation winemaker at Domaine de la Damase, which is located in the village of Violès, at the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail, in the heart of Provence. The domain includes 12 hectares under vine: 1,5 ha. of Cotes du Rhone Village Plans de Dieu, 6.5 ha of Cotes du Rhone and 4 ha of IGP., all farmed organically. Sébastien has experimented with various mono-varietal cuvées in addition the red blends typical of the region. This is just the second vintage of pure picpoul, a variety most famously grown and commercialized in the Languedoc for the expressed purpose of aiding in the consumption of oysters.
